Unlike other female companions Misty was the only companion to leave Ash without will. She is also known as "The Tomboyish Mermaid". Misty is also known as an occasional performer of the Cerulean City Gym. She plays a key role in making the Pokémon franchise popular it is now. Misty along with Brock has had made a huge impact on both the Franchise and its audience. At the end of the original series, she takes over the Cerulean Gym. During the beginning of the series, she is constantly belittled by her older sisters. She is a constant support to Ash and has saved him from both death and paralysis, even though they both argue over the smallest of matters. Misty is brave, courageous and accepts the harsh realities of life.
